Static and Dynamic Strategies
Strategies in culture can be divided into static and dynamic strategies.
Static Strategies
A static strategy works like this:
the author chooses a strategy, prepares for it, occupies a place, and holds on to it for life.
This is how the central positions work:

| Author | creates something new |
Dynamic Strategies
Dynamic strategies can be regular or irregular.
Regular Dynamic Strategy: Wanderer
The wanderer moves upward through the hierarchy:
consumer
transmitter
author
consumer in a new hierarchy
transmitter
author
...
He rises inside one hierarchy, then leaves it and enters a new hierarchy from below.
Irregular Dynamic Strategy: Invader
The invader moves from any position to any position.
He does not have to follow the path from bottom to top.
Outside Positions
The outsider is outside society, outside positions.
He exits the hierarchy, and it no longer makes its demands of him.
