Kepler, Newton, and the Sandwich

In physics, knowledge forms stable units that I call a sandwich.

One half of the sandwich is the transition from data to formulas. Example: Kepler’s laws.

The other half is the transition from principles to formulas. Example: Newton’s laws.

Physicists do not stop until one half has received its second half.

In this way, the formulas for spectral lines received Bohr’s postulates.

In this way, Mendeleev’s table received the Schrodinger equation and the Pauli principle.

The fourth rule of discussion - justification of the tuple - is an attempt to introduce into discourse a weak version of the rule “close the sandwich”.

When an author explains where a tuple of concepts came from, he completes the second half of the model.
